Go With Your Gut

I remember taking multiple choice tests as a child and invariably whenever I would review my answers and make a change I would find that my original answer was correct. Go with your gut! That’s the way I’m feeling today regarding the centerpieces. Everyone that I’ve showed them to seem to think that they’re fine. Sure they’re not real flowers, but they’re gonna have to do. I selected the centerpieces because I like them and they didn’t cost an arm and a leg. You see I’m cheap and I couldn’t fathom the idea of spending a bunch of money on flowers that would be tossed at the end of the night.

So there you the candle with the fake flowers are in. The jury is still out on the table linens.

Flowers and Table Linens

…these are my two biggest concerns right now. So much so that thinking about them often brings me to tears. I know that sounds ridiculous, but that’s where I am with the wedding planning. Let me first say that i don’t have a creative bone in my body, after all I’m an Engineer. Numbers are my thing, not flowers and table linens. I’m feeling so overwhelmed right not. I keep seeing pictures of beautiful receptions and all I can think about is did I make the right choices. I’m starting to think that I did not. So now I’m on a mad dash to come up with a new look for the reception.

Why is it that when you’ve moved on folks are always trying to pull you back?

NEWSFLASH – I’m getting married…STOP CALLING ME! I haven’t answered a call from you in over six months. MOVE ON!

I don’t care if you always thought I’d be the woman that you’d marry. That ship has sailed and you’ve been left at the dock.

The big day is quickly approaching, in 81 days I’ll be married. That seems kind of funny…I’ll be married in 81 days. When I tell you that I would have never thunk it, I’m serious. First of all, growing up I always said that I would never marry. I’m not really sure why I felt that way, particularly because I grew up in a home with both my parents. My parents did and still continue to have a great marriage…so I don’t know where I got it in my head that I would not marry. But alas those where the thoughts of a child. However, as I got older, I continued to think that I would not get married; only this time it had more to do with the quality of men that I met. This is not to say that I have only dated losers, because that is not true. I’ve dated some interesting folks, they’ve just not been right for me.

Thankfully in 81 days I’ll be wed to the man that God had intended for me all along.
