day 1

Today was the day 1 on the new gig. Can you say overwhelming? I think that I met every person in the building and a few folks just walking down the street. Of course I did not remember not one name. It was just too much! The guy that I am replacing is on vacation so I essentially have nothing meaningful to do with my time. He’ll be back later this week at which point I will be even more overwhelmed with information that I’ll actually need to retain. Wish me luck with that one. I did complete one very meaningful task…I submitted my bank information for direct deposit. Let’s hear it for a steady check!

Tiffany, I know what you mean about your first day on the job being overwhelming. I was like a walking zombie, not just the first day but the first 3 months. I am finally connecting the dots and it is really coming together. Folks have commented that they were initially concerned, I was looking tired and overwhelmed and yes I was. I can now finally breath again. My constant prayer used to be, “God, I know you didn’t bring me all the way to Japan to fail”. I don’t pray that prayer anymore. I just give Him thanks for this great opportunity but I do occasionally pray for continued success. Good luck and blessings to you in this new opportunity.
btw, I had no idea you were from Detroit. I thought you were from Cleveland. It took your blog to find that out. Not sure how I missed it.
