That’s Odd Tuesday

Posted by: only1tcb on: September 1, 2009

Ok…with no help for you all…I’ve made a decision about theme day! Drum roll please…That’s odd Tuesday is the theme that I am going to go with. I actually did not decide this all on my own. The events of the day decided the theme.

It’s not really a big deal, but I thought it was odd. Okay here is the situation. I’m in m office preparing for the day and one of my co-workers walks in and immediately begins talking. Now I should let you know that this person, who I’ll call Billy, gets on my last effing nerves. It’s almost to the point that I can’t stand the site of this person. Anyway, I’m in my office with 15 minutes before a meeting, trying to get some last minute items together and Billy just walks in and starts talking. I’m thinking…that’s odd…can you not fucking see that I’m busy.

Well I’m polite so I entertain Billy for a few moments…the gist of it is Billy is not prepared for his meeting and he’s here asking me questions that he should have asked me last week. We’ll guess what I’m busy. I let Billy go on for a little but before cutting in to say “hey, I have a meeting in 15 minutes…we need to talk about this later.” Probably not a big deal, but isn’t it odd that people think that their emergencies are also your emergencies?

Second odd occurrence, again involved Billy. Billy scheduled a vendor call today to talk about one of my products, no big deal. He had a meeting with them last week and thought I might like to hear what they have to offer. Well I’m sitting on this call, thinking why in the hell did he schedule this call…this potential partner does not offer what we’re looking for…this is a waist of my time. I forgot to mention that I took the call from my office with the door closed. Unlike some other folks, I try to be courteous and close my door when I’m using the speaker phone. I’m not entirely sure where Billy was during the call, I assume he was in his cube. Okay, here is the thing that made me decide on the blog theme. After the call, I’m in my office working, still with the door closed. Guess who waltz his happy ass right into my office without knocking…Billy. My face must have said “what the fuck are you doing in here” because Billy says oh I’m sorry, leaves and closes the door. Now I thought that was totally odd. I’ve never just barged into someone’s office. Isn’t it odd that Billy felt that was acceptable?
