Okay, I have to say that I am very excited about this blog. I was thinking that I should give blogging a serious try. You see, I’ve had a few other blogs, but for whatever reason, I’d start a blog and never really get back around to actually adding any updates.
So my mind was racing, what should I try this time. Weight loss and fitness? Well that’s not really very interesting. When you get right down to it, the answer is eat less and move more. Project Management? We’ll that is boring for sure, why would I want to blog about something that I do all day long? And then it hit me! Why not blog about dating? This is perfect, my own social experiment.
As you can guess from the title, I’m 35 so I figured why not go on 35 first dates and blog about the experiences. This is actually a great idea in my opinion. Not only does this give me something to write about, it gives me a reason to meet 35 new men. And hey, who knows what might come out of the experiences.
Celeste, now and only now am I open to the idea of being set up.
Tiffany, this is GREAT I should join you on your quest. So now you’re open to being set up huh? I’m excited for you. How much time are you giving yourself 35 dates in 35 days? What qualifies as a date? I’ll pass the word let’s see who bites. Are you going to post this on fb too? Pictures? Got any lined up already? Wohooo! have fun and good luck!!
Sandra, I should have known that you’d be the first person to comment. Most other people don’t get the concept of using the web as a platform to deliver / share your personal message.
You’ve posed some very interesting questions. Here are my responses:
(1) How much time am I giving my self? 35 days? That would be fantastic, but given my track record, 35 days is very unrealistic. I actually don’t think I’ve had 35 dates in the entire 35 years son earth; so I’ll need a bit more time. I had considered saying that the time frame would be limited to this summer, but based on the previous statement, I thought I’d better extend it to the end of the year.
(2) What qualifies as a date? I found this to be the most thought provoking question. My official answer for now is let me get back to you. However, until you posed the question, I was thinking of a traditional date. You know, girl meets guy, guy asks girl out. But hey since this is my social experiment, there is no reason to let tradition define what is and what is not a date. So check back…looks like I have the topic for my next blog entry.
(3) To facebook or not to facebook? I was thinking not to facbook would be best. In my mind, posting the blog to facebook would really be putting me out there. As if just posting on the web was somehow not putting myself on “front street” already. Posting on facebook would mean that my “friends” would know about my experiment…that seems a bit scary. Then they’d all know that Tiffany is single. So for now, no facebook. But this seems like another topic, how do you expect to meet someone, if everyone already thinks you’re with someone? It’s looking like facebook is the way to go…
(4) I do not have any dates lined up…so send me all your friends. I know you know tons of interesting men.
